Event office

The event office will be open on Friday, May 19 from 16:00 to 19:00 at Lithuanian Winter Sports Centre, Sporto g. 3, Ignalina, just outside the model training area.

Competition centres

The centre of the long distance competition is based in Paukojė village, Ignalina municipality, near the 1423 road from Ignalina towards Ginučiai and Kirdeikiai

The centre of the BOC relay and BMOC / Open middle competition is based in Šeimatis village, Utena municipality. The competition centre is accesible from the road Tauragnai - Dauparai

Map and terrain

Long distance - Stripeikiai

Two types of landforms – up to 40 m slopes with various gullies and middle landforms: various depressions, hills, re-entrants, spurs, small marshes. The lowest point – Lake Pakasas – 138 m above sea level, the highest – 200 m. Well runnable pine and spruce tree forest with parts of mixed forest with undergrowth with low runnability. Average density of roads, rides and tracks network.

NB! Changes in the scales

Scales for classes MW 18,20,21,35,40 - M 1:15 000, MW 10-16, 45-60 - M 1:10 000, MW 65-80 - M 1:7 500, contour interval - 5 m.

Relay / middle distance - Šeimaitis

Up to 30 m Lake Tauragnas slope and various middle and small landforms nearby it: depressions, hills, re-entrants, spurs, small marshes. Mostly average runnability with pine and spruce tree forest with undergrowth. Poor density of roads and tracks. No rides at all.

Scale for class M/W65+ scale 1:7500, all other classes 1:10 000, contour interval 2,5 m.    

Training possibilities

The model training event on Friday, May 19 from 17:00 to 19:00 will be held in Ignalina, at Ažušilė forest.

The coordinates of the training are: 55.336370, 26.201220

Model event maps (both 1:10 000 scale and 1:15000 scale) will be available at the event office or as agreed with organizers prior to arrival.

There will be only control flags at the control sites.

Starts

Distances from the competition centres to the starts:

Saturday: 500 m for all competitors

Sunday: start/finish at the CC for relay runners, 800 m for the rest.


The start interval is 3 minutes for BOC runners and 2 minutes for the rest. Pre-start is 3 minutes, additional control descriptions are at the pre-start. Clothes can be left at the start and they will be transported to the competition centre.

NB! The national team lists for the relay must be handed to the organizers before 15:00 on Saturday. The start lists for the relay will be published on Saturday evening.

Prize giving ceremony

The prize ceremony for the long distance winners and medalists will take place in the centre of Ignalina, at the central square near the town hall (Laisvės aikštė, Ignalina) at 19:00

Team officials' meeting

The team officials' meeting will take place on Saturday, 20 May, at the restaurant "Žuvėdra", address Mokyklos g. 11, Ignalina, after the award giving ceremony at 20:00

Electronic punching system

Besides regular SI cards, the use of SI Air touch-free cards will be activated.

GPS tracking

GPS devices will be delivered out  to MW21E runners whose names will be released after publishing the start lists. Devices will be given to the competitors by the organizers at the pre-start. Please arrive for your GPS device earlier before your start.

National team members are strictly prohibited to use any kind of communication devices or any other sources of information for obtaining information about route choice of the runners with GPS.

There will be radio controls during both days of the competition and a spectator control during the relay competition.

Number bibs

NB! Changes!

There will be number bibs for BOC competitiors only. BMOC and Open competitors will not receive a number bib.

Number bibs for the national teams for relay competition will be delivered out during the team officials' meeting on Saturday evening. Please use the safety pins you receive on the 1st day on both days.
